Barbara Walters, Meredith Vieira, Star Jones and Joy Behar Of ABC's "The View" Joined By Stars Of Daytime To Present Nominations.

Daytime Emmys Air Friday, May 16 On ABC At 8:00 p.m. (ET) Live from Radio City Music HallNEW YORK -- March 12, 2003 - The 30th Annual Daytime Emmy Award Nominations were announced live today on ABC Daytime's popular morning talk and entertainment program, "The View." The awards recognize outstanding achievement by individuals and programs broadcast during the 2002 calendar year.

Barbara Walters, Meredith Vieira, Star Jones and Joy Behar, the co-hosts of ABC's The View were joined by an all-star lineup of daytime's leading actors and actresses to announce the nominations in 11 categories. The nominations were presented by All My Children's Rebecca Budig (Greenlee du Pres) and Michael E. Knight (Tad Martin); One Life to Live's Melissa Archer (Natalie Buchanan) and John-Paul Lavoisier (Rex Balxom); General Hospital's Alicia Leigh Willis (Courtney Matthews) and Rick Hearst (Ric Lansing); Port Charles' Erin Hershey Presley (Alison Barrington) and Brian Gaskill (Rafe Kovich); As the World Turns' Lesli Kay (Molly Conlan McKinnon); Guiding Light's Paul Anthony Stewart (Danny Santos); Days of Our Lives' Alison Sweeney (Sami Brady), Passions' James Hyde (Sam Bennett) and the co-hosts of ABC's The View.

The Lifetime Achievement Award this year will be presented to Art Linkletter, former host of Kids Say the Darndest Things. Mr. Linkletter has won two Emmy Awards and been nominated for four Emmy Awards.

The 30th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards will be broadcast live on ABC on Friday, May 16, from New York City's Radio City Music Hall from 8:00 - 11:00 p.m. (ET). This year marks the first time the Daytime Emmy telecast is three hours. White Cherry Entertainment will produce the show.

The Creative Craft Daytime Emmy Awards, primarily for the creative arts categories, will be presented on Saturday, May 10, in New York at the Marriott Marquis Hotel and in Los Angeles at the Sheraton Universal Hotel.

Emmy Awards are presented to daytime television programs that are broadcast between the hours of 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. The eligibility period for all awards was January 1, 2002 through December 31, 2002.

The 30th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards is a presentation of the National Television Academy in cooperation with the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.
