Through scholarships programs and National Student Television, the Foundation of the National Television Academy is committed to inspiring the next generation of broadcast journalists, educating television viewers, and advancing television best practices.

The Foundation of the National Television Academy was established in October, 2002, to support and advance the educational initiatives of the Academy and its chapters around the country.

Now in its fifth year, the National Student Television Award for Excellence encourages journalistic skills among high school students .This nation-wide program uses a curriculum based on two books by Av Westin . In 2007, winners will be recognized in seven categories at the regional and national levels. The National winners will be honored at a ceremony in New York City .

Stanley Hubbard, Chairman of Hubbard Broadcasting and past Chairman of the National Television Academy , serves as the Foundation's Chair. Distinguished television journalist Av Westin serves as the Foundation's Executive Director.
