JIM HOLLINGSWORTH

Jim Hollingsworth is Senior Director at WJLA-TV, Washington, DC. He has spent 35 years as Producer/Director at this station and has been awarded 10 Emmys in the news program and sporting events categories.

Jim has been involved with the Washington DC chapter of NATAS for 20 years. He has served as awards chair, Emmy night chair, 1st VP, 2nd VP and President of the chapter for two terms. Currently he is Job Bank Chair and serves on the Silver Circle and Awards committees.

SUE-ANN STAAKE-WAYNE

Sue Ann Staake-Wayne’s career in production and broadcasting spans over three decades.  She is currently President of SAS Productions, Inc., a television production company based in Washington, D.C. Her career in broadcasting began in 1973 at WTTG-TV, Washington, D.C., then owned by Metromedia, Inc.  She has been on staff and freelance at ABC News, CBS News, NBC News, and PBS, Washington Bureaus; WETA-TV (PBS), W*USA-TV (CBS Affiliate) also in Washington, D.C. and WTVZ (TVX Broadcast Group) in Norfolk, Virginia.

She has traveled to Bosnia twice to assist in the production of election programming.  She was hired by the U.S. State Department as a Television Production Consultant working for the OSCE (The Organization for the Security and Cooperation in Europe) and OHR (The Office of the High Representative).  She was also Coordinating Producer for 50 hours of live coverage over four days for NATO-TV. This was broadcast internationally to commemorate NATO’s 50th Anniversary.

Her national directing credits include; currently CBS’s Face the Nation and Special Events including the last four Inaugurations and the Funeral Pool coverage for President Gerald Ford. She also directs “Religion & Ethics Newsweekly” produced by WNET for PBS. She has been a member of the Director’s Guild of America (DGA) since 1984.

Her clients have included NATO-TV, U.S. Departments of Education and Defense, SACO SmartVision, Inc., USIA, AFL-CIO, AFSCME, AARP, Chartered Health Plan, USPS, UCP, Team Video International, Gallaudet University, and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.  She has produced and directed numerous live video conferences, telethons, award shows, and videos for these clients. For the past seven   years she has produced and directed the National Trust for Historical Preservation’s Awards ceremony.

From 1986-1994, Ms. Staake was an Adjunct Professor at The American University, in Washington, D.C.  She taught Fundamentals of Television Production, Directing Talent for Television and Television Production & Direction.In her long service to NATAS she has held the following positions: President of the Washington D.C. Chapter, National Secretary, National Trustee and Alternate. Her national committee work has included seventeen years on the Membership/Expansion Committee and four years on the Awards Committee.  She is a member of the Silver Circle, inducted in 1998. With national as well as local credits to her name, she has won four local EMMY awards and an ADDY.
