DAVID BURT
David Burt is Station Manager for Boston City TV and Boston Kids and Family TV in Boston, Mass.Mr. Burt began his television career as an intern at WPXT in Portland, Maine. Upon graduating from the University of Southern Maine, WPXT hired him full-time. He worked there for over ten years in engineering, master control and the production department, aiding in the creation of Maine’s first Fox Television Network affiliate. In 1991, Mr. Burt was promoted to Station Promotion Director at FOX51, where he directed all on-air promotions, station image, outside media planning/buying and oversaw all activities of the 50,000 members FOX51 Kids Club. The following year, Mr. Burt was responsible for the promotional launch of Maine’s first 10PM newscast, The FOX51 Ten O’Clock News.In his current position with the City of Boston, Mr. Burt works very closely with the city administration and numerous city departments to educate and inform Boston residents about city services, public service and public health related issues. At the request of Mayor Thomas M. Menino, he produces and directs the award winning health series, About Health with Jeanne Blake, which airs in over a dozen cities across the country. His office also regulates the cable television license franchises for the City of Boston, working closely with constituent services and the cable providers.

At the Boston/New England Chapter of NATAS, Mr. Burt has been elected as the 2nd Trustee, a first for the Boston/New England chapter. He currently serves as Chair of the Chapter’s Education Committee, overseeing NSTV and previously held the position of 2nd Vice President.


ROGER LYONS

Roger Lyons is the National Trustee and President Emeritus of the Boston/New England Chapter of the National Television Academy.  He has served four terms as President, three terms as the National Trustee for the Chapter and has executive produced all televised Emmy® Awards shows since the mid-90’s.  He has served on the Board in some capacity since 1988.Lyons also serves as the Chairman of the Public Relations Committee for the National Television Academy.  He also is a member of the Scholarship Committee and NATAS/ATAS Committee for the National Academy.For the past eleven years, Lyons has served as the Director of Production for BZ Productions, the commercial production unit for the CBS Boston television stations.  His group produces commercials, station promotions and occasional specials for CBS4, TV38 and CW28.  Prior to that, Lyons served two extended stints at WGBH-TV in various roles, most recently as Director of Advertising and On-Air Promotion.  In between stays at WGBH, he served as Director of Advertising and Promotion at Channel 7, then called WNEV.  He also served as Promotion Manager at Metromedia Producers Corporation.

Lyons lives in Natick, MA with his wife, Peg, a graphic designer.  He has two sons, two stepsons, two grandchildren, two dogs and two cats.
