Joy Allison Zucker-Tiemann-Tiemann is a 24 year veteran of both local and national news and sports.  As an eager University of Maryland freshman, Zucker-Tiemann got her start at ABC Sports and credits "being in the right place at the right time."  After working through college traveling weekends as a contractor, Zucker-Tiemann later transitioned to ABC News in Washington, DC.

Zucker-Tiemann became known for her work with startups including USA TODAY on TV, Mizlou Sports News Network, and NewsChannel 8.  While at NewsChannel 8, Zucker-Tiemann took her first Emmy for Producing a News Special titled: "DC Police Station Shootout: How and Why?"  In addition to her news producing, Zucker-Tiemann went on to become the station's Executive Producer, and managed to also host and produce an on-air cooking segment.  After winning her first Emmy, Zucker-Tiemann became involved in the DC Chapter of NATAS as a board of governor.  Not only did Zucker-Tiemann add another Emmy to her mantle, but she also grew with the Academy being elected up the ranks from 2nd to 1st Vice President while serving as Emmy Night Chair and Producer, Nominations Party and Website Chair.  Zucker-Tiemann then served two consecutive terms as Chapter President and helped the chapter set the standard for bringing in sponsors for Emmy and Silver Circle events.  Expansion station outreach, professional development seminars and student outreach became cornerstones of her presidency.  After serving two consecutive terms as the Chapter’s Alternate Trustee, Joy is now serving her first term as a Trustee.

While attending National Trustee meetings, it is fair to say Zucker-Tiemann has never been shy to ask the tough questions and demand answers.  She challenged National officers to promote affordable health care and life insurance to all members.  Zucker-Tiemann’s service to the National Academy also includes four years on the Technology Committee.

This former PA, Stage Manager, Producer, Reporter, on-air talent, Computer Administrator/trainer and Executive Producer now freelances as a Media Consultant and Producer with many television stations, production companies and national organizations.

This New Jersey native resides with her husband Neal in Poolesville, Maryland.  The couple looks forward to the arrival of their first child this fall.
